Life Span is a nationally known leader in the provision of services to victims of violence and their children. Our comprehensive services include criminal court advocacy, representation in civil and immigration cases, and counseling. Our agency provides national leadership in policy work and systemic advocacy, and our staff has trained advocates, lawyers, judges, counselors and other professionals in Illinois and across the country on critical issues and innovative practices.

General Description:

The Administrative Assistant position is located in our Chicago office. This is a dynamic office consisting of 9 attorneys specializing in domestic relations and immigration law, three paralegals, two advocates and a counselor. The administrative assistant is a first contact position critical to our office’s successful operation. The administrative assistant is responsible for coordinating the functioning of the office, answering the telephone and assisting with client requests, filing, processing mail, minor bookkeeping, scheduling, assisting with ordering and maintaining supplies, and other duties.

Qualifications:
Qualifications include excellent organization, communication skills, problem solving, ability to work with clients in crisis, ability to follow directions but think for yourself.
Some experience in domestic violence services or related filed is helpful. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required.
