Staff diversity is of primary importance to Life Span, and we are proud that many of our clients are served by professionals who speak their language and understand their culture. Our staff includes bilingual and bicultural lawyers, counselors and advocates who speak Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Russian, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu, and Korean. We have staff from diverse faith traditions, as well as staff from the LGBTQ community.
Our staff ensures that Life Span’s services are culturally appropriate, and we strive to create an agency where clients have access to staff that speak their native language and have a similar cultural experience. Further, Life Span’s unusually high retention rate among nonprofit agencies—our staff averages 8.3 years—speaks to the dedication, professionalism and experience of our employees.
Effective services for victims of domestic and sexual violence require the building of trust with clients and the use of expertise and knowledge on their behalf. Our highly skilled and experienced staff fulfills these essential functions, and our services have no equal in Illinois.
